Getting an advertising program started with Pecan Pie Productions is surprisingly easy.
If you’ve never advertised on-screen before, or if you’ve advertised with another partner, we understand that the process may seem complex. We’ve worked hard to make it simple and get you on-screen quickly, affordably, and easily!
Check out this FAQ for more detail on our process. And don’t hesitate to get in touch with more questions or to get started today!
Will my ad run before every movie?
Yes! Your ad is on-screen before every movie we play. Cool? Cool.
How much does it cost?
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. You don’t waste any time!
The rates can vary from theatre to theatre based on the number of movie screens at that particular location, city, annual attendance, and demographic makeup of the audience. Also, determining the rates are the length of the ad and the number of weeks that you sign up for.
A typical ad is :15 or :30 seconds and our weekly programs are 52, 28, and 13 weeks. The more weeks you buy, the lower your weekly rates.
For example, at one of our 16 screen theatres, a :30 second ad for 52 weeks is $225 per week. This is only $2.00 per screen per day, $14.00 per screen per week, $0.40 (only 40 cents!) per ad play.
This is just an example, so contact us at (888)990.8777 or email us at info@pecanpieproductions.com or click here to fill out the info form to get specific answers.
Does the screen advertising work?
In 2012, 87% of our screen advertisers renewed their contract. In 2013, 89% of our screen advertisers renewed. In 2014, 90% of our screen advertisers renewed. And in 2015, 89% of our screen advertisers renewed. We think that’s a pretty good indicator that our advertisers are satisfied with their ad campaign.
Who makes the ads?
If you don’t already have an ad ready to go we’ll create one for you. You just need to submit your artwork and we’ll take it from there. If you have an existing ad, you’re welcome to use that too and we will re-format it to fit the screen size.

How quickly can you produce an ad?
Typically we can produce a proof for you in 24-48 hours. During the busy movie season it might take a day or two longer. But we are very fast!
What if I already have a commercial? Can we use that?
Of course. You can easily upload your ad into our system. Just ask how by sending us an email at info@pecanpieproductions.com Don’t be shy. You can also get more information on advertising specifications here.
What if my brother’s son’s friend’s uncle has a computer program and makes ads in his spare time? Can we use that?
We’ve created over 4,000 ads for movie theatres across the country. If you think your brother’s son’s friend’s uncle can make an ad better than us, then please go ahead and send it to us.
How do I know if my ad is working?
Business will increase and people will start asking for your autograph. If that’s not enough, please read the positive feedback from some of our advertisers.
How quickly can you get my ad on the big screens?
Ads go live on Fridays. To get your ad on screen by any upcoming Friday, we need the ad completed and approved the Friday before (one week early).
We only upload ads twice per month so please ask us the upload dates in advance. Email us to find out more.
Do we have to pay the full amount upfront?
Nope. We do monthly payments. You can pay by check or credit card (get those miles!). Whichever way is easiest. Let’s discuss what works best for you.
How did everyone at PPP get to be so nice?
Moms. We have great moms.
How many minutes was the length of the 1st Academy Awards in 1929?
15 minutes and the best picture award went to Wings. The 85th Academy Awards in 2013 was over 3 hours! The best picture was Argo.
What if I want my ad to play only before movies for kids?
Yes, parents bring their kids to movies but those parents also go to the movies (on dates) without those kids (nag-free mommy and daddy time). They should see those ads whenever they go see a movie. If you only want to be advertising before kids only movies (not our recommendation), we can make this happen.
What types of companies typically advertise on-screen?
Our advertisers include restaurants, schools of all levels, auto dealers, realtors, jewelry stores, heating and cooling companies, plumbers, opticians, bowling alleys, wedding shops, photographers, event centers, salons, law offices, credit unions, hospitals and many types of healthcare providers (dentists, orthodontists, podiatrists, general practitioners, therapists, plastic surgeons, etc,) and retirement centers.
Basically, our advertisers are any businesses that want to reach their local communities in a meaningful, entertaining way.
How long do most companies advertise for?
52 weeks.
Most advertisers want to be on-screen during the busy movie seasons (see next Q & A for more information). We also have other programs. Contact us today and we’ll talk about it. We love to talk.
What are the busiest times of year for the movie industry?
May through August is the summer blockbuster movie season. This is the time for action hero and kids movies. The holiday movies start at the end of October and go through January. This is when you will see family movies and many Oscar contenders. Almost everyone goes to the movies over the holidays. Movie attendance typically quadruples over the summer and holidays. Keep in mind, new movies are released every Friday throughout the entire year with some of the most successful movies of all time hitting screens outside of these two seasons.
When should I start expecting returns on my ad?
It depends on your business and the type of ad you’re running. Some restaurants see returns right away while some bigger ticket items, like auto dealers see results in a month or so. It just depends on your business and how we work together to construct your advertising message.
Do you have a referral fee if I know of someone that should be advertising?
Sure. Let’s chat about it. Get in touch!
How many times will my ad play on the movie screens?
That depends on the number of movie screens at that location. Let’s look at one of our 16-screen theatres for example:
Each of the 16 screens plays 5 movies per day for a total of 80 movies per day (16 x 5). Your ad is on-screen before each of the 80 movies, so your ad plays 80x per day and 560x per week. Over the course of 52 weeks there are 29,120 movies (80 movies per day and 560 movies per week) and your ad appears before each of those 29,120 movies. So that means your ad plays 29,120 times!
What genre is the most popular among moviegoers?
Good question. 61% of moviegoers say Action and Adventure is the most popular genre across all ethnic groups. Comedy is the second with 51% and sci-fi/fantasy is 42%. (according to NRG’s 2012 American Moviegoing report)
